Fishing Dex minigame

How it works

Fishing uses an active skill-based minigame rather than passive waiting. When a fish bites, a moving diamond appears on screen. The player must keep this diamond positioned underneath a fish icon while a progress bar fills up. If the diamond drops below the fish icon, the fish escapes.

  • A moving diamond element appears when a fish bites
  • Keep the diamond underneath the fish icon by moving/adjusting in time
  • A progress bar fills while the diamond is correctly positioned
  • If the diamond drops below the fish icon, progress resets and the fish escapes
  • Difficulty scales with fish rarity - rarer fish move faster and are harder to track
Progression

The fishing progression system has a confirmed maximum of 500 points. Points are earned through multiple sources, not just catching fish.

  • Tier 1 Fishing Rod
  • Tier 2 Fishing Rod
  • Tier 3 Fishing Rod - required for the rarest species
Difficulty
The rarer the fish accidentally hooked, the harder the minigame becomes. Common fish are easy to land; legendary species require precise, fast reactions.
