Sailing
Overview
Primary navigation mechanic requiring ship purchase and spawning through a ship-in-a-bottle item to explore the seas. Unanchored vessels can be stolen by other players.
Ship Classes
Smallest, fastest ship. Built for solo or small crew. Limited cannon count but exceptional maneuverability.
Mid-size vessel. Balances speed and firepower. The most versatile choice for mixed exploration and combat.
Largest warship. Heavy cannon count, high durability. Designed for large crews and naval engagements.
Damage Marker System
Cannon hits accumulate colour-coded markers on target ships. Consistent fire escalates through three stages - each raising the damage multiplier until the vessel sinks. Inspired by AC: Black Flag.
Exploration mode
Base ship mode activated with E key, featuring mortar cannons (G), chain shot (F), and ram abilities (T). Camera movement displays firing lines for cannon targeting.
Battle mode
Initiated by pressing R while controlling the vessel, expanding field of view and enabling NPC crew cannon operation alongside player-controlled ramming and shooting.
Combat mechanics
Includes grounded combat on enemy decks and a marker damage system. Markers progress from yellow (1x damage) through orange (2x) to red (3x) with continued hits causing sinking.
Grounded combat
Players standing on enemy vessels can engage in grounded combat without falling into water.
Markers
Visual indicators showing cumulative ship damage. "Hitting the ship further will cause it to sink" once red markers appear.
